All over England, local people are taking back power and running businesses together to transform where they live. These community businesses are tackling some of society’s most significant issues at a very local level.
Fieldwork have been commissioned by Power To Change to produce a monthly audio podcast that will hear from community businesses, the journey they’ve been on, the impact they’ve had and their tips to make it easier for others to do the same.
There are nearly 7,000 community businesses in England, and the movement is growing. Power to Change is the independent trust supporting community businesses in England. They believe no one knows better what is needed in a place than local people.
Job description and requirements
Essential
We are looking for someone who is good at telling stories and conversing in a clear, confident, warm and engaging way to present our monthly community business podcast. You will already have a direct connection to the community business world and will help us generate original ideas for the show. We are very keen to hear from people working or volunteering at the coalface of community business.
Desired but not essential
You might have experience in:
broadcast/radio/television/media production
drama/performing arts
journalism
Role
Your work with the podcast production team will include:
rehearsing shows
liaising with other members of the production team
introducing and hosting programmes
meet/skype with the production team to assess or review the show and to plan the next shows.
Depending on your experience, we will support you in developing this work.
The day rate is £150.00, and you will be required for two days a month. We will need you to commit to our production schedule, which we will give to you in advance.
