I've known these stairs for a long time

Turton Close Flats, Bristol Estate, Brighton

I had to deliver some emergency supplies to my nan today. She's 93, an age I'm never allowed to forget because she tells me all the time. She is housebound, in the same flat she's lived in for over 40 years. These are the stairs that lead up to the flat, only two floors up, but I was reminded this morning of how scary these two flights of stairs used to feel. The sound of the wind pushing it's way along corridors, forcing doors to open and close and strange noises, evil noises practically chased me up the stairs today. At the top of the stairs, I was greeted by that familiar face, the hallway with its telephone table, walking stick corner and a million memories of childhood.

On the way back down, I was a little bit braver, and recorded this.
