I hate seeing these stories. I know just how messed up the family and children laws are in this country, I’ve sat in a court in absolute wonderment at how old fashioned and unfair things are.
But, and I don’t say this ‘but’ lightly, I have to wonder how much the fathers 4 justice thing helps. Dressing up in a batman suit makes dads feeling that their children should spend more time with them look a bit, well, crazy. And, I can understand how the system can make you feel crazy, but it’s not a brand I’d want to associate myself with.
I don’t have a better idea or option apart from lobbying MP’s, this is what Russell Davies would call a slow project. It hurts to think that my child will possibly be a dad himself by the time there are any real changes in how families are supported through the carnage of a split or divorce.
