We were in the Lake District, climbing to the top of Scafell Pike. This is the view looking down to our route home. You can just about make out the path, as it winds down to the crevice that looks ever so inviting. Many have fallen foul here, thinking this is the way to safety, beer and maybe a pie at the pub. It is in fact, a crevice that drops you, bit by bit, until the drop is too much, and the climb back is too high. With no phone signal, this is a dangerous place to find yourself. Always take a map and compass.
